Hola Mahalia A celebration established by Guru Gobind Singh.
Hola Mohalla is a Sikh tradition established by Guru Gobind Singhas a festival that takes place on the first of the lunar month of Chet, which usually falls in March. "Hola Mohalla" means "mock fight". During the festival, processions are organized in the form of military-type columns with war-drums and standard-bearers that proceed to a predetermined area or move from Gurdwara to Gurdwara. The custom originated in the time of Guru Gobind Singh who held the first such mock fight event at Anandpur in February, 1701.
